Examining Life, Looking Straight at Death

WNYC Radio’s program Radiolab recently presented an episode all about mortality—it’s thought-provoking and embedded with fascinating questions, starting with “Do we have to die?” and ending with “How do we deal with dying?”

If you have the 59 minutes and 22 seconds, we highly recommend going on this journey with hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich—it’s worth it. This episode (like a lot of Radiolab episodes), surprised me, got me thinking in new ways, informed me of stuff I never would have known otherwise. It pointed at death but from a place of immense curiosity and a good dose of compassion.

We’re human. Death is baked right into life on Earth. We’re thinking about this stuff even when we don’t think we are. This Radiolab episode stimulates some new considerations and leaves plenty of room for each of us to wonder and draw our own conclusions.

Jad and Robert bring you into the big questions, the little nuances, and the realness of death. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself laughing, crying, and understanding just a little more about this inherent human experience.
